01 — The trainer

A lawyer who first handled the claims

Before he trained others, Franck Dollfus went to sea, handled claims and argued cases. A member of the Paris Bar, a former merchant-navy cadet turned head of legal and claims in broking and insurance, he builds every session around real files — not textbooks.

He was called to the Bar in 2006, first as a partner in a Le Havre firm, and co-founded the Asterias Avocats economic interest group the same year. In 2011 he set up the Dollfus practice in Paris. A lecturer in marine insurance at the Le Havre Faculty of Law since 2004, he also lectures at the Antwerp Maritime Academy and has taught maritime law at ESA Business School in Beirut. He is a subcontracted trainer for the Qualiopi-certified organisations CESAM and BLF.
