The trainer

Franck Dollfus

A member of the Paris Bar and a former transport and marine insurance practitioner. A rare dual culture: the claim lived from the inside and the courtroom.

01 — Background

From the bridge to the courtroom

Before advising and training, Franck Dollfus went to sea and handled claims. A former merchant-navy cadet officer and holder of the DESS (postgraduate degree) in Maritime and Transport Law from Aix-en-Provence, he spent twelve years as head of legal affairs and marine and transport claims — first in a broking firm, then within international insurance companies, working closely with contracts, average and recovery actions.

He was called to the Bar in 2006, first as a partner in a Le Havre firm, and co-founded the Asterias Avocats economic interest group the same year. In 2011 he set up the Dollfus practice in Paris. A lecturer in marine insurance at the Le Havre Faculty of Law since 2004, he also lectures at the Antwerp Maritime Academy and has taught maritime law at ESA Business School in Beirut. He is a subcontracted trainer for the Qualiopi-certified organisations CESAM and BLF.
